Duke Nukem Forever Review

Ok I need to explain that I got into shooters way back, I enjoyed games like Doom, Duke Nukem 3d, Tribes, Wolfenstein. So i'm used to those games, thats not to say I dont enjoy the new shooters but i do miss the challenge of no regenerating shields or health packs everywhere but there fun.... so on with the review

Over all the game is  decent game it's what i expected from a game that  has been the bastard child of multiple teams and over many years... it shows it's age but is it still a decent enjoyable game... yes it is. Does it have it's issues yeah it does but to me it's about enjoying the game, if you're a fan FPS's and you want all FPS's to have the same if not better quality of Call of Duty, Battlefield, Killzone, Resistance, Halo series then you will be dissapointed in this game, it's not a serious FPS players game. The enjoyment of this game is the complete disregard for all the modern styles, yes it borrows from it so players can easily get  into the game and know how to play BUT you have to look at it as it's the content it's about the one liners, about the girls, about shooting pig cops and throwing poo at the walls. IT'S MEANT TO MAKE YOU LAUGH not be serious, I mean c'mon the story alone should tell you that.

All the current reviewers i have seen have lost this and think it needs to be compared to the more modern shooters....I will not name them in my review.

Onto the review

Pro's
1). Duke Nukem Forever is released, we should as gamers be happy that a company who knew that it probebly would not stand up to the modern shooters still released a risky fun and funny shooter. hell it was in developement longer than Too Human....

2). Multi-player: the multiplayer is good and fun not reinventing the wheel but do we have to do that every shooter?

3). One Liners and Humor: it's all there it makes fun of all the shooters and even itself, but this game is not for someone who takes shooters seriously cause they will probebly not like it.

Con's

1). Graphics : The game shows it's age and how many teams handled it.

2). Aiming: Aiming can be frustrating at times but once u get used to it it's not too bad. Slow down when too many enemies get on screen.

3). Platforming: i am not a fan of this in any fps cause personally no FPS does it right and probebly wont ever.

Final Thought:
there i'm happy Duke Nukem Forever truly did take forever to come out i am happy gearbox did release it, do i think it's worth a 60$ price tag MEH i think it would have been a better price at like 40-50. overall it's a fun game and it's refreshing to see one of my old favorite accually come back and it's like i played it way back. I hope this help you guys let me knwo what you think of it.

Video Game Award Review

hello guys it's been awhile since i posted on any of my blogs cause of life i have had to take care of a few things. Anyway onto the subject the VGA's

I look forward to this show every year cause of the announcements but this year almost all the announcements were all "leaked" out.... I will be going most of what happened so if you have  DVR and have not watched it well then.... don't read...

As for winners you all can goto the website or www.gametrailers.com to find those out but i will say one thing i am very happy for is that Red Dead Redemption won game of the year and not that cookie cutter FPS black Ops (not that it's not a good game just saying), i esspecially like how the Dev made a crack at what i can assume was EA and Activision in saying and i'm paraphrasing 'this is for all the developers who want to do something different'. which says alot for the current state of games it's either Sequals or remakes lately...

Anyway onto the announcements

Mass Effect 3....

Ok DUH how is this an announcement it was "leaked" by EA earlier in the week and the only thing it did was give us the whole cinematic and a release date of 11/11. This is not news anyway who knew of Mass effect knew there was a third and it will be a good game with bioware at the helm. nuff said!

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Ok i figured they would announce this game and i am looking forward to it also, not alot of information but will be released in 2011

Batman Arkham City

Now i knew they would show a cinematic of this and i was looking forward to this cause the first game was outstanding and looks to be on track to be a Game of the year for

Resistance 3

I'm sorry but this was "leaked" like a day after Resistance 2 came out or whatever..... this wasnt' news just more information but this should not have been a huge announcement along the same lines as the mass effect 3 announcement .

Mortal kombat w/Kratos for ps3 edition

This was "leaked" a week before and dont be surprised if either master chief  (halo) or Marcus (Gears of war) are on the Xbox 360. Still looking forward to this lets hope this will do as well as SF4 did.

Forza 4

I figured with GT5 finally coming out that Forza 4 was going to be announced soon i'm not a racing gamer but looks good.

Prototype 2

DUH was announced earlier this year only news is a vioce over of the bad guy in this game i guess..... 

Portal 2

This was just a Cinematic and the game is still delayed but either way will be a winner of a game.

Insane by Guillermo Del Toro

Not alot just his saying he's making the game but just a title screen cinematic can't say much TBH.

Elder Scrolls V :Skyrim

This was the OMFG moment cause i didnt' hear any rumors of this prior to the event and i am extremely looking forward to this next year

other noted announcements

SSX: Deadly Decents, Deadliest Warrior DLC, Thor, Journey

Now for my critique of the show itself....

Neil Patrick Harris hosting was pretty good just did alot of non game things that i think took away from the show, don't get me wrong about NPH he's a great actor and i like his shows just didnt' feel right him hosting he seemed unconfrontable in the enviroment.

Olivia Munn, where to start with this train wreck...... i can't say i honestly like her. Even looks she's pretty but her voice and attitude just isn't for me.

Tony Hawk made a appearance and thankfully he was not trying to promote a stupid game with a plastic board when will activision learn from Skate series but maybe it's best for him to just not make games anymore with Shawn White and Skate as his competition  unless he does something amazing i dont see a good Tony hawk game anymore.

as for the other appearances some were good but my head was down in shame cause they had some actress from 90210 do a award.... yeah that says gaming as having some woman on a show that has nothing todo with gaming do it.... i guess thats practically the whole thing really

So my overall review of the show as a B-, it seemed forced the stupid effect for the home viewers was dumb and  over all Geoff from game trailers is a producer of the show and i just dont' get it how much money did Activision pay him and Gametrailers.com  to promote COD: black ops that was all over the show..... i'm not saying it's a bad game but wow just wow....
